We follow the protocols detailed on this site to test the Null hypothesis against the Torah code hypothesis to create tables with associated p-levels. A p-level is the probability that a table as compact as the given table would have arisen by chance. Chance has a definition that is specified in the experimental protocol of the Monte Carlo experiment done to generate the table.
A great many other Torah code researchers do not follow this discipline, or do so only for a portion of their work. This can lead to misleading the public in serious ways. We prefer not to name names but rather to teach what is correct so that a person can judge and understand that tables produced without proper experimental protocols and therefore without proper experiments cannot properly be argued as constituting candidates for Torah codes. We give our own recommendations on the best sources and omit those that we do not agree with.
